What this site is
An informational calculator. It estimates lottery payouts after federal and state tax using published rules and live jackpot data. It is not a lottery operator, ticket seller, tax adviser, attorney or financial adviser.
Estimates, not advice
Every figure is an estimate. It assumes a single filer, the standard deduction, no other income, and the ticket bought in the selected state. Your actual liability depends on your full tax situation and on rules we cannot model. Do not make a financial decision about a prize without a licensed professional.
Accuracy
We work from official lottery data, IRS publications and state revenue departments, and we date every rate. We do not warrant that any figure is free of error or current at the moment you read it. Tax law changes, and jackpots change every few days.
Acceptable use
- Do not scrape the site at a rate that degrades service for others.
- Do not republish substantial portions without attribution and a link.
- Do not use the site to mislead anyone about their likely payout.
Intellectual property
The text, design, calculator and data compilation are ours. The underlying lottery rules and rates are public information. "Powerball" and "Mega Millions" are trademarks of their respective owners; we use them descriptively and claim no affiliation.

We link to official lottery sites, IRS publications and state revenue departments for verification. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content.
Limitation of liability
The site is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for decisions made in reliance on an estimate, or for any loss arising from use of the site.
Advertising
The site is supported by advertising. Advertisers do not influence the data, the methodology, or which states and pages we cover.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable to the site operator's place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
