Eight guides, written around the questions that actually decide how much of a prize survives: what is withheld, what is owed, what gets locked at claim time, and what changes if you are not a US resident.
Start with the mechanics
If you read one page, read how lottery taxes work. It sets out the three layers — 24% withheld at payout, a 37% federal liability at filing, and a state rate between 0% and 13.3% — and shows where the gap between them comes from.

How these guides are written
Each one starts from primary sources — IRS publications, state revenue department guidance, official game rules — and uses the live jackpot for its worked examples, so the numbers are current rather than illustrative. Where a rule varies by state, the guide says so and links to the state page rather than generalising.
The limits are set out on the methodology page: single filer, standard deduction, no other income, and today's brackets held flat for annuity projections.
